Things are progressing in a positive manner in that we are having sensible conversations with two investors in Fergies
Farm and that nearly all creditors have agreed to The Duke's informal settlement figure. Good progress has also been
made in putting in financial controls as part of the building for the future.
However, there is a fly in the ointment in settling past issues. Two creditors (Johnny O'Sullivan and Kate Waddington of
Sputnik Communications) are refusing the informal deal of 25p in the £. Their actions seem to be to cause as much
embarrassment to the Duchess and in the case of Johnny, if he does not receive his full claim, he is highly likely to go
public with a book or story of his 18 years or so of being a personal aide to the Duchess. His timing is probably going to
be at the time that the OWN television series airs to maximise his profile.
We are therefore looking as a separate exercise to the investment in Fergies Farm for short term assistance to resolve
matters with these two difficult creditors. The idea is to have someone purchase the liabilities from these two (total cost of
under £200k) and then stand in line with the other creditors to receive the 25p offer from The Duke. Once the finance has
come through via Fergies Farm the purchaser of the liabilities would receive compensation for their loss.
Do you have any contacts or have any idea if there is someone who might support such a transaction which is effect is a
loan of no more than £200K?
