Dear Mr. Epstein,
David Sloan Wilson and I want to invite you to the Paduano Symposium in Business Ethics at the
Stem School of Business, New York University on Friday November 16, 2012 from 1:20pm-
2:40pm. The seminar will be held in Room 19 on the UC (Upper Concourse) level of Stem's
Tisch Hall which is located at 40 West 4th Street, NYC,10012.
The symposium will cover the importance of complexity science and evolution in relation to
business ethics. It will also set the stage for a new center at the business school founded by
Jonathan Haidt whose goal is to draw on the best behavioral science research to create
organizations that function as ethical systems, with only minimal need for directly training people
to behave ethically.
The speakers include David Sloan Wilson Jonathan Haidt Robert Frank and Paul Fromer. I will
send you the official poster when it is listed on the NYU site. Meanwhile, if you have any
questions please contact me.
Regards,
Robert

I am Robert Kadar founder and editor of Evolution: This View of Life, an online science
magazine that broadly investigates all life from an evolutionary perspective
(launched February 12, 2012 Darwin Day. The magazine especially focuses on the
burgeoning science of cultural evolution and human prosociality in relation to
social, political, and economic affairs (and more). Hence, we encroach on
established academic turfs. Moreover, we aim to re-introduce evolutionary science
into the currency of modern thinking and public discourse—not as the distorted
representation often thrown back and forth in the popular media, but as a powerful
lens through which to view the events and behaviors around us.
This project is under the umbrella of the Evolution Institute directed by Dr. David Sloan
Wilson.
Eventually we anticipate sufficient funding from the NSF to keep afloat on a long term
basis. Presently, we are surviving entirely on small donations from individuals like
you who support what we do. I encourage you to take a good look at the magazine.
If you like what it is doing, please consider lending it a helping hand. Your
assistance will be greatly appreciated.
If you have questions or concerns about what we do do not hesitate to express them to
me and do not feel bound by an etiquette of politeness. Like you I grew up in a
cultural environment hospitable to intellectual banter and vigorous disputation
subject in the end only to conformity with the facts on the ground.
Regards,
Robert
