<=pan>Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your Mayor.

<=pan>Yesterday, City Manager Jimmy Morales and I travelled to Tallahassee t= meet with Governor Rick Scott, the
Secretary of Transportation, and the S=cretary of the Department of Environmental Protection to discuss the
lower=Alton Road construction project and to explore ways to expedite constructi=n and completion of the project.

<=pan>l am proud to announce that as a result of our visit, the State has ch=nged its project targe= completion date to
December 31, 2014-a full 7 months ahead=of schedule.
<=pan>
<=pan>ln addition to alleviating traffic congestion, this project has a =flooding mitigation component that includes the
installation of three new =ump stations that will help alleviate the street flooding. =Along with the new pump stations,
the City will be strategically installing=nbsp;an additional 30 and 40 pump stations throughout Miami Beach to reduc=
the flooding.
