Subject: think about it.
Hey,
You know I don't ask you for anything, but
Cooper Union is in serious need of an upgrade to the IT system that the school
relies on. It is currently running things on a DOS based system installed in the
1980's. There is no money in the budget for this 2.5 million dollar expense.
There are other deferred maintenance items ahead of it. My personal giving to
the school is closing in on $750,000 so far. It can be spread out over a couple
of years.
I know you don't have a great affinity to The Cooper Union,(you were fucking the
putchoochie too much in those days), but between us we got 7 years of free
education there. It allowed Paula and Seymour to retire with money in the bank.
Here's the hook. I can get the new IT system at The Cooper Union to be named
'Seymour'. If anyone needs any info, they have to ask Seymour. The new web
based system will be all encompassing. Everything from payroll and record
keeping, to scheduling the use of the various classrooms and labs
(not a small task), will be handled by the new system. I can get more detailed
info if you're interested. This will also amount to an ongoing substantial
savings in staffing and operational costs.
This can be done either publicly or anonymously. I wouldn't ask you if I didn't
think it appropriate, and in line with your other giving.
Thanks
