When Ben Franklin was 7 years old he blew all of his money (several pennies) on a whistle. He was so excited
about the opportunity to buy the whistle that he forgot to ask the merchant how much it cost and instead offered
up all of his money, which the merchant gladly accepted. He was later reprimanded by his brother because for
the price he paid for the whistle he could have also purchased candy as well. That day he learned not to let his
enthusiasm for an item affect his judgment of its real value.
