Ms. Maxwell:
As you requested, I have attached the letter I wrote to you 1/29/01
regarding my compensation package. The evening you and Mr. Epstein hired
me, he referred to this letter and agreed to match the package providing I
agreed to take a $55,000 concession in salary for four months to lower and
offset the agency fee.
I understand the administrative benefit of lifting this concession in July
however I'd like to request it be retroactive to the actual 4 months (June
17th) as I am conceding over $1,000 per week (nearly 18K to date).
I still recall us laughing about their dismay when I told the agency I
accepted this position at $110K with no contract as they saw the written 2
year offer I had just received to manage one property @ $150K. Although the
past four months have been the toughest of my career and there were times I
didn't think passing the other offer was so funny, I believe having an
office, effective technology, a suitable apartment and most importantly
regular interaction with you will be pivotal in this position.
Additionally I've survived 2 year old pretzels, toxic fumes from the blood
bank and extreme embarrassment. I'm writing a letter to recommend the TV
show Survivor be modified to surviving a new job rather than the wild. Do
you happen to know the producers? We can split the profit...
Seriously, I really like and respect both you and Mr. Epstein and still feel
this is a terrific match. I appreciate your support and the opportunity to
be in this position. I'd like your sniffer to be right and hope you were
truly "smelling good things" and not overcome by the paint fumes...
Regards,
