-Boeing 727,. when I ran the engines on the Boeing on Sunday, the center MFD EFIS tube (Mulit Function
Unit) did not power up, I have a spare EFIS tube in the Boeing, and it do not fix the problem,,,the other main
component is the "Symbol Generator" located in Belly of aircraft, I removed the unit and cleaned the pins,
still does not work,,,,the overhaul exchange of this unit is $21,000, I prefer to fly the Boeing to Palm Beach
with MFD inop, since I have 4 other EFIS tubes to display weather, and let Avionics shop trouble shoot
further before spending $21k and replacing the Symbol Generator box,.
Dave will bring the exchange FMS unit on airlines tomorrow and will install at that time, Crew will arrive
Wed at 2PM.
