THE RE-STAINING/RE-FINISHING WORK
All wood panels should have been made of the same type of wood. If it turns
out that any of the wood is not consistent it should be replaced. In any event all
wood should appear with consistent color and finish throughout the Library
Cabinetry. Sand, strip and otherwise prepare the wood of which the Library
Cabinetry is fabricated as necessary to remove "lime" or "acid treatment" and to
remove glaze finish (which is neither completely nor consistently applied
throughout the Library Cabinetry) and to bring back the natural wood finish. Create
a variegated finish highlighting the carvings and bringing out the natural color of the
wood of which the Library Cabinetry is fabricated. Complete with a wax finish.
Wood should be sealed against the elements. Stain and finish of Library Cabinetry
should be consistent with the highest quality standards for custom built, high-end,
exquisitely carved, replica of antique cabinetry for a multi-million dollar structure.
Attached hereto is a photograph to provide the basis for the required
coloring of the Library Cabinetry.
