The paean to mathematics as art I mentioned - attached. Also, a quote from
the book I was reading during my interminable travel today (just kidding!):
"All great scientists have, in a certain sense, been great artists; the man
with no imagination may collect facts, but he cannot make great
discoveries." (Karl Pearson, _The Grammar of Science_, 1899). He then goes
on to name Michael Faraday and Charles Darwin as having the widest
imaginations of his generation, above any novelist or poet.
