Jeffrey, Typical crap from Molyneux: Use eraser to remove chalk, wash board with water, we all learned this in
grade school. The board does not take chalk. Doug

Doug,
In reference to the blackboard, below is additional information from Fancelli for cleaning instructions and
material components of the blackboard. Also attached at the bottom of this email is our initial email to
you from Fancelli in regards to cleaning.

Dear Christian,
From what you say it seems that the client or someone else might have tried to clean the blackboard
with a product and the chalk slips on the surface without writing.
The working principle of this paint is that it contains microbeads that make the surface abrasive in order
to crumble the chalk to write.
If they have used a product containing oil or wax this paint can be cleaned with warm water and mild
soap. Rinse well with clear water afterwards.
To properly answer the question of the cleaning we should know exactly what product was used.
If they have used a product containing silicone there are specific cleaners to try.
But if the beads have been leveled it is necessary to paint the surface again.
Cleaning should be done with soft cloth may be soft brush - no scrubbing -
In any case, the dealer say that the ownership of the trademark Sayerlack is U.S.

I hope that this information can help you

Hello Doug,
We received some information from Fancelli regarding the blackboard. We are awaiting the actual
specification of the material but please review Fancelli's comments:
• They used the regular blackboard material used in schools and universities
• The blackboard was working when delivered and was tested on site by Doug Schoettle, Mr.
Molyneux, Doug Stine and Fancelli
• The installation and finisher crew did not apply anything on the blackboard during their visit
• Please check the quality of chalk - some are harder than others - soft chalk will certainly be more
effective
• A dry cloth or felt brush (as used in schools) should be used to clean the blackboard. A damp cloth
with water can be used to remove all residue of chalk.
We will forward additional technical information about the blackboard once received.
