Subject: LSJ Visit

Sir,
The PR Fiber technicians I met with last Tuesday submitted a quote late Friday afternoon detailing the task list
outlined during their visit. Quote was for 15K and did not include accommodations while on St Thomas (I had
indicated that we may be able to offer accommodations at the Elysian hoping to save some of the cost). I
explained this was substantially higher than we had anticipated spending on this project and was answered by the
company president that this is their standard rate used for WAPA and VITELCO. Assuming that we were to
complete this work, we still have not verified that the undersea cable is without fault. Bonneville construction
suggested we do test this prior to repairing the splices in St Thomas and LSJ and is going to send pricing later
today or tomorrow for that task which was not part of the original quote. Bonneville Construction has indicated
that they should be able to assist us the third or fourth week of January assuming we have prepared the new runs
as expected.
I contacted Val-Comm at Brice's suggestion Friday afternoon and asked what I should expect to pay for such a
task. I am to follow up with Paul later today for more information.
Gary Moses was able to swap out the replacement power supply on the BCM 400 Thursday afternoon. The
device still does not power up. Most likely we will have to replace the telephony system as a result. I am getting
a button layout from the previous system to Richard at ValComm to ensure that there will be no feature loss in
transitioning to the VoIP system they are recommending for LSJ/Zorro.
Fiber cable was purchased under the laundry expansion project and is expected to be to the island the first week
of January. Work has begun to install conduit that will hold the fiber cable. The new fiber cable will be installed
into the island conduit once delivered.
I met with Mr. Kerney Wednesday morning and am preparing a project plan and build out for our IT room in the
new mechanical building. I anticipate having this to him by the end of the week. I will cc you this information
when delivered. I should be able to deliver numbers for the moving to the new IT space and terminating our new
fiber infrastructure at that time.
Just wanted to keep you up to date,
