Since I am fond of you, I will not comment in an ad hominem way. You
believe (erroneously) that scientific knowledge happens in giant bites and
high significance and is identifiable from a distance. I believe it happens in
small pieces, a bit at a time. I am as we speak, in a scientific advisory
board meeting where the bites they are discussing are far smaller than the
effect of storage on mackerel, a matter of urgency to farmers, grocers,
housewives, economists, all of whom will use it for their benefit and some of
whom will use it as further stepping stones to more ideas and studies.
