Sony for the late response! We'd been traveling in the US in the past week and just returned to Beijing a few
days ago.
We had a wonderful breakfast meeting in New York and it was a real pleasure to talk with you about the recent
development of Tsinghua and the potential cooperation between us. I agree with you that we should begin as
soon as possible. We'd like to follow up with the scholarship program you proposed (not necessarily in my
name, could be in name of a former president of Tsinghua or a distinguished professor. We'll figure it out later).
It would be great to send some of our most talented students to spend some time in the evolutionary dynamics
program at Harvard or the MIT media lab. We appreciate your kind offer of connecting us with the directors of
these programs. I'd like to appoint Professor LI JinlianA Dean of Office of International
Cooperation and Exchange as the contact person for future communication.
I would also like to cordially invite you to visit our campus this September as fall is the best season of the year in
Beijing. Professor LI Jinliang and his team will follow up with you to fix the date and help you arrange the trip
accordingly.
