3.5 days for install and take apart = 3.5 x 700 = 2,450
estimated material cost with delivery = 1,050

hi rich,
i drew a sketch of a scaffolding (platform) can be built with wood as i told you, see attachment.
i didnt draw all the verticals we need. in the between two verticals should be another one in the middle, so the total no of verticals (2by4) is 35. for horizontal we need like 23 pieces of 2by4. X we need 26 pieces of 2by4
so total of 2by4 would be around 90 pieces. these 2by4 comes 8, 10, or 12 feet long, and one piece is around $3, so the total would be like $300.
then for the platform we need 12 pieces plywood 8x4ft, 2/3 inch thick, plus two more pieces of plywood to cut squares of plywood lx1 ft to put under the legs to protect the rug in the room. and one piece of plywood should be
around $25. so total plywood would cost around $400
so probably all the materials would be around $800, and everything can be reused.
the platform would be 16ftX24ft. the entire dinning room is 21ft X27ft but i dont need close to the wall because the crown molding is one and a half foot wide..
i told you about michael, to do that because he is engineer and he've done it before, .and said i can help him because i am engineer too, i studied poli technique 4 years before fine arts.. so there would be two engineers... :-)
but any construction company could built this platform too, probably faster because they can bring more people.., but they should be very carefully with the walls..
if the ceiling would be low probably you can use just a moving scaffolding to do the painting on the ceiling or even a ladder, but this ceiling is too high.. and for any move you have to get off 9 or 10 feet high..
sorry its kind of complicate to do a painting on a that high ceiling..
