Lawrence,
While I can understand how emotionally satisfying this must have been to write, given how awfully you've
been treated by ASU so far, if you send it out, you're done. Period. You will have no hope of winning at ASU,
because everyone who reads this isn't going to think you're falsely accused. They're just going to think you're
an asshole. This thing is just too dense and too angry. It will read to other people as borderline unhinged,
because no one understands what it's like to actually go through this process. They don't know what it does to
people.
Again, I understand where you're coming from, and I'm happy to think about how we might want to
incorporate some of this into your defense. But if you send it now, you are only going to throw gas on the fire
and make things worse. You will flat-out ruin your chances of any vindication during the internal process. I
promise you that. It is, quite simply, suicide.
You should show this to Nancy, Jeffrey, and anyone else you trust. I cannot imagine that anyone will think this
is a good idea. Maybe when you're completely done with the process, you can issue something like this. But
not right now.

If you want to issue a statement, it should be along the lines of what I sent you last week—a few sentences
max, stating your innocence and your intent to be fully vindicated by the appeal process. I've pasted below a
story involving another professor-client of mine, which includes what we did for him.
Let me know what time you'd like to talk tomorrow. Given the time change, do you want to say 1 Eastern?
