Especially this: "Finally, Mr. Epstein has gone to prison and made enormous monetary settlements relying on his
negotiated agreement. He is entitled to finality like every other defendant." — I think the US is going backwards
in this regard. Finality seems unthinkable, and the public court of heresay is much more relevant than the legal
court. It seems brave of Starr and the others to take a stand like this in the NYT, while Harvard Law students are
demonstrating against their prof Sullivan, because he dares to work as Weinstein's defense attorney, and
Catherine MacKinnon gets tenure there. The current generation is apparently no longer making much of a
distinction between the legal system and their politics.
