I asked Boscoe to get us some numbers or an invoice asap so we can move forward with the purchase but he's
insisting it's not that easy. I'll stay on top of him
Text message from Boscoe this morning:
Barge mufflers.
I spoke to Mike Metcalf again.
The results of that conversation follows in bullet points.
Difficult design and work on a one of a kind vessel.
The entire system has to be replaced to match the new mufflers port and starboard.
The guesstimate cost for supplying the parts 'only' for port and starboard with no installation is:
10 thousand dollars. $$
With installation it's twice that.
Even if it's installed locally the costs are likely to exceed that $10 k with shipping, insulation and setup delays
as well as downtime costs for the barge.
There are more questions than answers at this time. So, it could get better or it could get worse.
