As you have seen the Barracuda walk-behind model is ideal for medium size beaches or sand areas. The model is very easy to work with and designed for maneuverability. The unit is available with 3 different sifting screens, 8mm 12mm 15mm which take about 5 minutes, (2 bolts), to change in the field and is powered by a Honda 6.5HP GX200 motor. Weight of the unit is 650 lbs. The Barracuda takes advantage of the new suspension track system that prevents sand compaction and adds to the operator's comfort. This model takes less effort to control and has less vibration compared to older tire models. Because the screening system is behind the drive tracks, no or very little tire tracks or compacted sand is left after the cleaning process. Other walk-behind models on the market have problems with tire tracks and sand compaction after the cleaning process. Also, the screening process is easily seen from the walking position, so you can accurately adjust the amount of material entering the system. The unit also has the ability to remove very small beach debris such as cigarette filters that large tractor pull-behind miss. The only drawback of the sifting screens, as with all sifting screen equipment, is the ability to screen out EFTA01043103 wet seaweed. Screens become clogged preventing sand from going through, dry seaweed presents little problem. The model has had excellent results in all sand types and excellent reliability. It is not limited to beach areas; they work well in sand golf bunkers and indoor-outdoor sand horse arenas. We reviewed the pictures and we feel the Barracuda track drive beach cleaner would work well in the conditions as seen except for the large amount of seaweed in one picture. Again, all walk behind beach cleaners on the market use the sifting screens and they will all have the same problem with wet seaweed. The price for the unit is $14,300.00 US including 3 screens.
