About Professor Yves AeId
With over 600 publications under his belt, Yves Agid, Professor in neurology and biology at the
Pitie-Salpetriere hospital, University of Paris, is one of the most cited scientists of the past 20
years. Among his seminal works is the description of various neurodegenerative disorders and
their associated biochemical and anatomical features, in particular Parkinson's and Alzheimer's
disease.
Pr. Yves Agid is a co-founder and the Scientific Strategy Consultant of the "Institut du Cerveau
et de la Moelle epiniere" — ICM (Brain and Spine Institute), an international brain and spinal
cord research center which is being launched in Paris. With 600 international researchers,
engineers and technicians and 22,000 square meters of laboratory space, ICM is an innovative
and ambitious model of excellence in the field of neuroscience.
