I just saw Boris. He said that he had spoken t= Bill today about my interest in working at the World Bank
He says Bill thought there were probably some =ood things we could share across institutions or do better sharing across
=nstitutions.
I was kind of non-responsive and agreed that t=ere are always lessons to share etc.

Half an hour later I came up to my office and =ot a call a from the folks at the WB saying that they had heard from the
f=undation that I was no longer interested in the position and were curious as to whether or not I would be withdrawing
my applicatio=.
It is a confidential application process (ther= are 3 people at the WB who know and Steve, and you) and the WB has
been v=ry good about trying to keep it that way.
They asked me if I had decided not to keep the=process confidential.
Not sure where this is coming from and how it =ecame like this but Steve and I have not told anyone.
This makes me very sad. I have had one real (m=rit-based opportunity) in the past few years come my way. It is a
legitima=e position and I feel like I have earned a try to at least apply.
Did you tell Boris anything about the WB? I do='t want to ask him because it will just confirm that I have applied. He
co=Id be guessing.
