Yes, but that is a short arm rest, the Lincoln and mercedes arm rest like we used in Sikorsky did
not house the satphone, this arm rest is long, if we remove satphone from arm rest we could work
out the issue, and re engineer,
it is the length from top to bottom of scat back,
Removing satphonc would make arm rest shorter and smaller?
I will tell toy store to figure other option other than an arm rest that folds down and is able to
move fwd 2 inches
Thx

Jeffrey,
I'm not content, neither is Clayton (interior shop manager) with the height and length of arm
rest for Bell 430, the arm rest will house the Satphone and provide pen and glass storage.
The issue is the hinge point for the arm rest on the Bell seat base is aft on the seat back. It
should be on the forward portion of the seat back,. what is happening, Bell's design is basic
and the standard arm rest is short and not proper height, if we lengthen the arm rest, it is higher
than the seat back top ledge.
I believe know your needs and what you expect in arm rest. It should be the correct height
where your arm naturally rests, and length should reach your wrist.
My idea is to have the arm rest operate telescopically, you would be able to lower the
arm rest and extend it forward to the proper extension you desire, if needed. the arm
rest will be able to telescope 2 inches to 2.5 inches„ Clayton has ordered the parts to
arrive Friday to make this happen, he understands it must be a firm, solid mechanism.
I'm in Dallas for Gil class and will return to the Helicopter on Friday to assist with
design.
do you approve of this approach?
thank you,
Larry
