Title: Chanukah begins in less than 48 hours- Bring light into your Ilk this year & light the
Nienorah
Chanukah begins in less than forty eight
hours. We light the first candle on
Tuesday night December 20th at nightfall
or after dark. We continue lighting the
candles each night through and including
on Tuesday night December 27th. On
Friday December 23' one must light the
candles only before sunset and not
afterwards. On Saturday December 24th.
one must only light the candles one hour
after sunset and not before.
Please make the extra effort and the light
the Chanukah candles this year.
You don't have to have an actual Menorah
to fulfill this Mitzvah(requirement). You
can use any candle or any type of oil you
have in the house and still fulfill the
Mitzvah of lighting Chanukah lights . If you
don't have a Menorah or Chanukah
candles and cannot buy a menorah or
Chanukah candles locally, please email
me and we will help you locate a menorah

and candles in your area or send you
some.
Each and every Jew should light his or her
own Menorah. Children are encouraged
to light as well.
The Blessings
Before lighting the Chanukah candles, we thank G-d for giving us this
special mitzvah, and for the incredible Chanukah miracles:
Ba-ruch A-tah Ado-nai E-to-he-nu Me-lech ha-olam a-sher ki-de-sha-nu be-
mitz-vo-tav ve-tzi-va-nu ner Chanukah.
Ba-ruch A-tah Ado-nai E-10-hei-nu Me-lech ha-dam she-a-sa la-avo-
te-nu ha-ya-mim ha-hem bi-z'man ha-zeh.
[Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us
with His commandments, and commanded us to kindle the Chanukah light.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who performed
miracles for our forefathers in those days, at this time.]
On the first night of Chanukah, Tuesday evening, December 20, 2011 (or the
first time on Chanukah you perform this mitzvah), add the following
blessing:
Ba-reach A-tah Ado-nai E-lo-he-nu Me-lech ha-dam she-heche-ya-nu
yi-ma-nu ve-higi-a-nu ha-zeh.
[Blessed arc You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has granted us
life, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this occasion.]
