Brice,
Some clarification on my last message. The risk of collapse with an airlift
operation on the first hole is losing a tool string in the hole. There is some question
of who pays for lost tools, driller or client. In view of that, we recommended the
safest way to check yield on that hole was to build a 6 inch well and test it.
The current hole, appearing to the drillers to be more stable, is a better risk for
open hole airlift to check yield.
The crew is continuing to drill below 640 ft this morning. Please let me know if
you want to proceed with the airlift. It will take the drillers a day or so to set it up.
Please call to discuss any of this.

Brice G.;
As we discussed, the drill crew reached 640 ft in the
exploratory borehole tonight with no observations of
significant fluid loss. The driller has indicated he may
be able to switch to an airlift operation without
damaging the borehole, which will allow a preview of
the how much water is coming from the hole. The
operation will require an additional compressor that
will add to the drilling cost, but it may be the only way
to see how much water this hole can produce. With
your approval, I will direct the drillers to set up for an
air operation. I have a call into Ronnie Dennison at
HGS to discuss the logistics and schedule for making
the transition to air. I will let you know what he says.
Please call to discuss any of this.
