Subject Diablo/ Ranch update
Mr. Epstein,
I just wanted you to know that I have found a home for Diablo. It is with a family and they sound
excited to have him.
This leaves us 2 guest horses for trail rides and 1 horse for one of the boys to ride as a escort. I
will ride my horse Blue to escort and give lessons from.
As requested all other animals arc off Ranch.
This cuts our feed bill and expenses for livestock in half
I have researched the cost of hay from 4 sourses and find that the usual supplier has the best price
and quality. This price is $7.50/bale of alfalfa hay delivered and all others are from $9 to $12.50
delivered. (I havepurchased from them for 12 years for myself and 6 years for you). I have
requested from to use one of the 4 checks on the Zorro acct I have been left but have not
been given a response. I would like to purchase 200 bales of alfalfa at this time.($1,500.00) I
would like to purchase grass hay as well but am not pleased with prices and will continue to find a
better price.
I have also suggested that our horse shoer( farrier) cut back his visits from every six weeks to
every at least 8 or 9(saving us between ($600 and $900 annually) but this did not fly with
We finally received a hurricane like rain storm on Sunday night. It flooded into the office,
laundry/bathroom, supply room and tack room of Stables. Nothing was damaged - just a lot of
mopping up. Mano and Steve have put in new culverts and worked the ground so that the waves
of water won't that come down the hill won't jump the road and do that again.
The lightening/conductivity from the storm took out a relay connector at well B. Mano has
ordered the part and a spare and will fix as soon as it is here.
There are 5 phone lines that are not working as well(all at Ranch Central). Paul with Val Comm
has been out to try and figure the problem. Apparently it has to do with things on the mountain
where our phone lines come from.
All is well up at the Main House. The rain/hail was not as vengeful up there.
Hope all is well
Wendy
