As discussed yesterday, I confirm several points concerning the Gates of Hell.
- Original cast are legally limited to 12 cast.
- 8 cast where already made, it means that musee Rodin still have the possibility to make
4 cast.
- You will have to send a letter to Mme Chevillot, Director of musee Rodin precising what
would be the place and the conditions of exhibition for the piece.
As I have told you, this item is generally reserved for public exhibition.
- It takes 3 years to cast it after signing a contract with a firm order from the purchaser.
Usually the payment has to be done in 3 parts according to the schedule of
casting (it means 1/3 with the order; 1/3 the 2nd year ; 1/3 when it is finished)
