Subject: Re: Invoice for Jeffrey?
Hi
Just wanted to check in and see if Jeffrey had any questions on the invoice.
Some of the scientific articles I forwarded are pretty dense so I'm happy to summarize those for
him if he would find that helpful.

Hi , would you mind passing on the following attachment and text below to
Jeffrey? It was missing in my original invoice email.
Joe
Hi Jeffrey,
This attachment was missing from my original invoice email. A few points regarding this
paper:
1. The pgp is not interested in pursuing this clinical metabolome research (too clinical),
and now that I'll be working on my own study, they no longer have the medical
expertise for this.
2. So, even though the data for this small exploratory/perspective piece was looked at
with a small number of PGP samples, our follow up publication (which would be
an "original research" paper rather than exploratory/perspective piece) would
involve a much larger number of samples from the MGH Virtual Genomics Clinic
with accompanying biochemical data.
3. PGP has also abandoned the GPS analyses tool I was instrumental in creating (see Fig.
1 of attached). GPS could be resurrected or built from scratch with support from
the bioinformatics part-time hire listed in the invoice. Cross comparisons of the 3
servers and 6 analyses tools in the first halfof year 1 would help create a
dramatically improved Genome Parsing System (GPS) - especially with respect to
UI and genome visualization.

4. Because it is non-clinical and public, the PGP never fully implemented the participant
survey found in Table 1. This will be fully implemented in the MGH VGC. Table
1 gives you an idea of the type of questionnaire we'll use in our study and
rationale for collecting this data.

thanks - my apologies again for the long wait on this.
I need drill down on a few more numbers but the invoke is
essentially a comprehensive overview of the research I'm planning
on making my life's work.
It's very ambitious and some initial funding will be critical in jump
starting the whole project.

Hi
Sorry for the delay. I was busy catching up on clinical
work and snowboarding all last week with friends in
Breckenridge.
Please pass on the attached invoice to Jeffrey. There are quite a few
attachments so I would instruct him to start with the
invoice which will make reference to other
attachments (and put them in proper context).
I provided a lot of info (erring on the side of providing more explanation
rather than too little).
Jeffrey should feel free to contact me anytime with questions regarding the
invoice by email or cell phone -
Thanks!
