As with any marble surface it will require more care and maintenance than granite or quartz surfaces. Because it's much softer it will scratch easier - there's nothing you can do about it. It will also etch (if it's a polished finish) and definitely stain if you leave any spills for a prolonged time. The best general care is to: a. wipe any spills right away b. don't place abrasive items on the tops - use mats and trivets instead c. seal it every few months to prolong it's "new" look. Overall marble counters can be very forgiving if properly cared for and if not - well, all of the stains and scratches ,A ill only add to the character and age.
