You can purchase yourself a subway card from a machine located at any subway
station (Or from an attendant behind the window down in the station). There is a
subway station at Lexington and 68th street.
I know there is an AT&T store not far from the apartments: 1103 Third Ave
(corner of 65th and 3rd)). The phone number is I think they
should have what you want.
