Dear Jeffrey,
Next Monday, June 27, we'll celebrate the 5th anniversary of TEDTalks online. We launched in 2006 with six
videos and very modest goals -- and we've been amazed by what's happened since. As of this month,
TEDTalks have been viewed 500 million times worldwide, and have been translated into 81 languages.
To mark this milestone, we're taking a moment to honor the speakers who have offered the world their words,
the translators who have amplified them, and most of all, the TED community: You've lent us your creativity,
your passion and your support in spreading these ideas.
Please join us next Monday for an early-summer, early-evening anniversary toast on the rooftop of our
new(ish) office.
