Subject Airfoil solution
Jeffrey,
Nick, Bill and a couple of local consultants have advised me that the 'complete' wireless solution
requires that the satellite speakers, center channel, and subwoofer have batteries. This is a poor
power source, and will not produce quality sound. The wireless systems that will give quality
sound require that the satellite speakers be plugged into a power source. In addition, only the
rear speakers of these systems are wireless, and the center channel and front speakers are
hardwired into the receiver.
After consulting with Nick and Murphy concerning the Apple Airfoil solution, I believe it is an
excellent way to share music wirelessly. If we use the Apple Airfoil with the Apple Airport
Express Module to a `wired' audio system that is nicely installed will produce quality sound from
your Macs. (E.g. Office Sound System in West Palm Beach Estate Cabana)
This solution would be perfect for the pavilion, but if the pool, gym and other areas are to have
music from the same computer library, a network solution will have to be added.
