I need an excuse to get to Paris. My claim to French fame...
I visited Normandy (and the other beaches) on Dec 6, 1999-666 months to the day from the D-day invasion.
It was raining like crazy, cold, and I imagine just as horrible as it was that day.
Every time I've been to France it's been winter.
